Messy Room

Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
His underwear is hanging on the lamp.
His raincoat is there in the overstuffed chair,
And the chair is becoming quite mucky and damp.
His workbook is wedged in the window,
His sweater’s been thrown on the floor.
His scarf and one ski are beneath the TV,
And his pants have been carelessly hung on the door.
His books are all jammed in the closet,
His vest has been left in the hall.
A lizard named Ed is asleep in his bed,
And his smelly old sock has been stuck to the wall.
Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
Donald or Robert or Willie or–
Huh? You say it’s mine? Oh, dear,
I knew it looked familiar!

I chose this poem because it relates pretty well to me. I usually have a messy room/closet pretty often. It also appeals to me because of its humor. I like funny poems MUCH more than serious poems. Overall, I thought that this poem would work on my blog.

Marley

Marley is one of my two dogs. We got him because in my family when you are 10 years old you get a pet. He is 5 years old, and I remember the time be got him. Here is that story.

It was a delightful January day, warmer than usual (it was about 55 degrees), my brothers birthday, and a great day to get a dog. We drove over to the pet store and saw 2 rescued dogs. One black and one white. This was a decision my family would have to make, the black or the white. Me (being my 8 year old self) preferred the black one. But we all knew that decision cam up to the boss, my brother. After long thought, my brother chose the white one.

Now was the hard part, what to name this dog. Me (again, being my 8 year old self) thought snowball was a GREAT name because of his white coat. But unfortunately, it was my brothers choice AGAIN. Since the movie Marley and Me came out recently, my brother chose Marley as he name.(even though the Marley in the movie is a female and our dog was a male)

After bringing him home we found out about some of his personalities. Just as we put him down he ran upstairs and hid under the couch for 2 hours. He was shy at first, but we soon realized that he was a CRAZY DOG. He now runs around, being a total spaz.

Since then,  Marley’s coat has gotten more tan in more places, and he is SUPER hairy.

Expository writing

In school recently we have been talking about expository writing. I have thought about different ideas, so I decided that I would make them into one post but with only one example.

Why contacts are better than glasses:

For this argument I think contacts are better because of messing with them all day, contacts only make you put on and take off them once. That is why contacts are better than glasses.

Why dogs are better than cats:

Overall dogs are much more friendly. I think cats hide away too much. Unlike cats, dogs are much better at appreciating a new person. That is why dogs are better than cats.

Why headphones are better than earbuds:

When wearing earbuds you can hear everything around you, but when you wear headphones, the cushions block the outside sound. That is why headphones are better than earbuds.

My list for expository writing is endless, and these are some of my favorites. I’m wondering what your favorite expository writing topic is. Please tell me in the comments.

iPad games

Recently I have gone on a shopping spree, a game shopping spree. Here are 3 of my favorite new games.

3. Super Stickman Golf 2

Super Stickman Golf 2 is a normal golf game with power ups, sticky walls, 8 person multiplayer and more. I have loved this game ever since I got it.

2. Hill Climb Racing

This game has been ridiculously addicting, it only has two buttons, break and gas. It’s physics are horrible, but it is so addicting.

1.quizup

quizup is a quiz game with many topics. You can play with random people or friends. I have  Played this game the most of any other game. Once you start playing with your friends, you get really competitive. During school we talk about doing this all the time. This app is one of my favorite apps of all time.

sandwich war!

Everybody in my family (except my sister) likes sandwiches.  Everybody has their favorite sandwich shop.   Here are mine.

 

5. Which Wich

The reason Which Wich is at the bottom of my list is because I hate their cheese and lettuce. The cheese always takes over the sandwich for me, and the lettuce just tastes different.

I Always order the club here, even though it is ok.

 

4. Subway

Subway is such a global brand that the ingredients are most likely not fresh. I still put this above Which Wich because I like Subway’s idea better – Getting whatever you want.

I always get a ham sandwich with American cheese, bacon, lettuce, pickles, and mayonnaise

 

3. Jimmy John’s

 

Now stop yelling at me, I have a reason for this. This was in the top 3 ok?  This just fell short.

Jimmy John’s is a great sandwich shop, making freaky fast sandwiches. But the reason why it is not number 1 is that they get my order wrong sometimes. Also, since it is a national brand, its not as fresh as the top 2.

 

2. Schlotzsky’s

 

I love their sandwiches.  They are large, warm (I love warm sandwiches), and magnificent. These ingredients are fresh, (because Schlotzsky’s started in Austin) which is good quality.

I usually like getting the turkey club.

 

1. Thundercloud Subs

 

I have chosen Thundercloud Subs as the best sandwich shop because it is local, its fresh, and I love the open container that lets you see the sandwich being made. I just chose this because I just love the sandwiches here better.

Places I want to visit

 got this topic  from student blogging challenge . I have gotten a lot of ideas from this site so I think you should visit it.

 

Since I went to Europe I have seen two of the places I want to visit on my list. Those are the Coliseum and the Eiffel Tower. But this blog post is about the places I have never visited.

1. Times Square

Its busy, its bright, and its an amazing place. Who doesn’t want to see times square at least once?

2. Barcelona

I want to go to Spain one day and I think that Barcelona would show me architecture and great soccer

3. Uluru

I don’t know  why, but this ginormous rock is interesting to me.

4. Colorado

I’ve never been skiing so Colorado seems to be a great skiing place.

5. Dubai

It has everything awesome. I has anything from the tallest building on earth to Atlantis Waterparks.

6. Yellowstone park

I kind of want to see a national park like Yellow Stone.

Gravity

Just recently I watched a movie called Gravity. This is also my own one-hundred word challenge. (spoilers)

Gravity is a movie about a woman named Ryan. Ryan is repairing the Hubble space telescope. The Russians blow up their space station. The debris destroys the other space stations. Ryan needs  head their way to the ISS with the crew member. They get there but the crew member has to let go. Next the ISS gets destroyed by fire but Ryan escapes. She has to make it to the Chinese Space Station to get back to earth. She lands on earth safely.    

Weatherman

Since my last blog I couldn’t think of another topic to talk about so I will talk more about my thoughts of being a weatherman.

Ever since 4th grade I have wanted to be a weatherman. It wasn’t one of those things that I have wanted to do since kindergarten, in fact, I had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up. But then I woke up one day and I just wanted to. I personally don’t know how I thought of it but my ideas of it are these theories.

1. In a dream

This idea has me having the longest dream I have ever had. I would kill a fire-breathing dragon and then decide that I wanted to be a weatherman

2. jealousy

I got jealous of all my friends having the best dream jobs so I chose a random job. I am lucky I didn’t choose a cashier!

3. my dog

My dog came up stairs and told me that I shall be a weatherman, I guess I believed him.

4. coincidence

Happened just by coincidence.

FUN!

Hey guys I just recently started some thing called school if you don’t know, which is not great. I mean I am happy that I get to see my friends again, but its back to homework, homework, homework, and did i mention homework?  Its upsetting being at school for seven hours then have tennis for 2 hours after and then getting home at 7 and does homework until 10. But its fine, at least I get an education unlike too many kids in this world. All I can say is at least I have the weekends.
